We have built in several options for lodging. Cabins, cottages, the lodge, and the bunkhouse all offer comfort and modern convenience. And, of course, you have the option of joining us for the experience, but finding lodging on your own.
Option One: The Eagle Cottages by National Geographic

These cottages are part of The Unique Lodges of the World collection, numbering just over 60 exceptional properties worldwide. They have been carefully created to immerse yourself in and explore some of the planet’s most treasured places. They also help protect those places for all our children and grandchildren to enjoy, too, for years in the future.
Eagle Cottages, like each of the Unique Lodges, was handpicked by National Geographic for its strong commitment to sustainable tourism practices and to protecting natural and cultural heritage. Few places are as naturally diverse and endlessly enjoyable as Gulf State Park.
When booking the National Geographic package, your cottage stay will include
- An elevated lakeside view of the surrounding Park.
- Windows that open to Gulf breezes and fresh sea air as well as full heating and A/C for when you prefer it.
- A private fire pit and Adirondack chairs for sitting around the campfire with a glass of wine and roasting s’mores.
- A selection of field guides and books on the local cultural and natural heritage of the region are included in each Cottage for your enjoyment during your stay.
- Two complimentary bicycles for your use in exploring the 28 miles of nature trails and look-out points that begin just outside your door.
- Free tram ride connection to all major locations in the Park and easy access by bike, car or tram to the famous beaches at Gulf Shores nearby.

Option Two: The Lakeside Cabins
Nestled within the park are nineteen fully furnished cabins; four within the tree line of our majestic longleaf pines and fifteen situated on the tranquil shore of Lake Shelby.
With a variety of bedroom choices, each cabin features a full kitchen, dining area, and incredible views of your surrounding area.
Option Three: the Bunkhouse
The Bunkhouse has two sleeping cabins capable of housing up to 64 people. Each sleeping cabin is comprised of 32 beds (16 bunk beds), in addition to four individual bathrooms, four individual showers, and complimentary laundry facilities.
There is also a residential kitchen and dining area, so groups may prepare snacks or meals within their living quarters. The Bunkhouse provides convenient amenities, so visiting groups can meet, sleep, and eat comfortably while still staying on the park grounds.
Option Four: The Lodge
Each of the 350 non-smoking Guest Rooms, including 20 suites, weave comfort and sustainability with a contemporary flair. All rooms and suites bring the outdoors in by providing guests views of either The Gulf of Mexico or Lake Shelby/Gulf State Park. Most rooms have balconies and all rooms have a window that opens slightly to allow the gulf breezes into the room.
