The Food

Oyster Po-boys, Shrimp and Grits, Steamed gulf royal reds, grilled grouper, fried snapper…. Alabama’s gulf is filled with tasty foods, prepared fresh and waiting.

Our soil is ready to grow bountiful harvests of fruits and vegetables. The season is perfect for luscious strawberries. Greens (from crisp lettuces and tender spinach to savory collards) are abundant during April.

Beautiful sugar snap peas taste perfect right from the fine–sublime with a gentle pat of farm fresh butter. Cabbage turned to a traditional Alabama slaw and served with fried gulf seafood is hard to beat, though!

  • Grouper tacos with fresh slaw
  • Watermelon margaritas
  • Pan-fried black snapper over sun-dried tomato grits and a basil/grape tomato salsa.
